Helping kids develop life-skills through after-school play

This program aims at helping children build healthy friendships, learn to make goals, learn to speak up, have fun with friends and work as a team.

What is the Northeast Community Program?

E4C’s Northeast Community Program is an after-school program working with children to help them gain skills, make friends and have fun.

Formerly known as the Northeast Teen Drop-in Centre, the program has been running youth-based programming since 1991 reaching at-risk children and youth and providing them with social supports and preventative programming.

Goals of the Northeast Community Program:

  1. Reinforce basic social skills, such as cooperation, team building, and conflict resolution to help children begin to develop work place competencies
  2. Improve academic achievement in children
  3. Increase student's self-esteem through skill development activities
  4. Provide a safe environment
  5. Encourage and develop links and partnerships between school, home, and community
  6. Assist children between 8 to 13 years, in at-risk and underserved communities
