Helping kids develop life-skills through
after-school play
This program aims at helping children
build healthy friendships, learn to make goals, learn to speak up, have fun
with friends and work as a team.
What is the Northeast Community Program?
E4C’s Northeast Community Program is an
after-school program working with children to help them gain skills, make
friends and have fun.
Formerly known as the Northeast Teen
Drop-in Centre, the program has been running youth-based programming since 1991
reaching at-risk children and youth and providing them with social supports and
preventative programming.
Goals of the Northeast Community
Program:
- Reinforce basic social skills, such as cooperation, team building, and conflict resolution to help children begin to develop work place competencies
- Improve academic achievement in children
- Increase student's self-esteem through skill development activities
- Provide a safe environment
- Encourage and develop links and partnerships between school, home, and community
- Assist children between 8 to 13 years, in at-risk and underserved
communities
